Limestone Step Reconstruction & Railing Restoration

Stage 01

The original steps and railings

The earlier front view shows the old stone step surfaces and the existing black metal railings on both sides of the entrance. Weathered edges and contrasting areas in the step finish are visible beneath the red front door.

This starting photograph provides the reference for the renewed limestone surfaces and restored railings.

Stage 02

Dismantling the railings and old limestone

The existing railings were taken down to allow access to the steps. The removal-stage photographs show the old finish coming away and the stair surfaces exposed for the replacement limestone.

Removing the old material opened the working area across the treads and the upper landing.

Stage 03

Installing the new limestone

New limestone was installed on the front steps and upper landing. The pale stone surfaces define the walking areas and the front edges of the stair flight.

The angled finished view shows how the treads meet the entrance landing and the side of the staircase.

Stage 04

Painting and reinstalling the railings

The metal railings were painted and reinstalled beside the renewed steps. Their black finish frames the pale limestone and reconnects the railings with the entrance.

The final front view brings the limestone, the restored railings and the red doorway together. The adjoining paver walkway was renewed as a separate part of the work.
